Common Name Hartweg's Aa [German Orchid Collector in Mexico 1800's]

Flower Size .15" [3 mm]

Found in Venezuela, Colombia and Ecuador at elevations of 2700 to 4100 meters as a large sized, cold growing terrestrial with basal, narrowly lanceolate, acute, gradually narrowing below into the clasping, subpetiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring and summer on a lateral, erect, glabrous, cylindrical, densely many flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, acute floral bracts.

CAUTION The photos above are suspect, but similar to Aa hartwegii but it has not been cited from Peru so please use with caution Dunsterville & Garays drawing is absolutely correct!
