Found in Ecuador in paramo at elevations of 2600 to 3450 meters as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with that blooms in the fall on an erect, terminal, slender, completly enveloped by to 12, thin, diaphanous, shortly acuminate sheaths, narrowly cylindrical, many flowered inflorescence with very hyaline, recurved medianally, ovate, obtuse, somewhat surpassing the flowers in length floral bracts.
