Found in Tarija department of Bolivia at elevations of 3300 to 3800 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing terrestrial with an erect, thin stem carrying basal leaves absent at blooming on an erect, 4" [10 cm] long, peduncle provided with several closely embracing, acuminate, hyaline sheathing bracts, rachis .6 to 1" [1.5 to 2.5 cm] long, cylindrical, densely many flowered inflorescence with hyaline veined, obtuse, recurved apex, as long as the ovary floral bracts and carrying glabrous flowers.
