Found in New Caledonia at the edge of forests or in mining scrublands at elevations of 200 to 1000 meters as a small sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial in humus and as a lithophyte on mossy chromium rich rocks with a single, whole, deeply cordate, acute leaf and blooms in the summer and fall on a terminal, erect, 3 to 8 flowered inflorescence
