Common Name The Notched Acriopsis- In Australia The Pale Chandelier Orchid
Flower Size .16 to .2" [4 to 5 mm]
Found in Queensland Australia in hot, humid, low rainforests, rainforest margins and in swamps at elevations of sealevel to 300 meters as a small sized, hot growing epiphtye with crowded, onion-like, pale green pseduobulbs carrying 2 to 4, apical, dark green, linear, acute leaves that blooms in the winter and spring on a basal, arching, paniculate, 8 to 24" [20 to 60 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence
The drawing provided when drawn was thought to be A javanica but subsequent examinations came to the conclusion that the drawing was of a new species = A emarginata
