Found in southwestern Cape Province in restio-veld in sand at elevations near sea level to 250 meters as a slender to robust, medium to just large sized, cold growing terrestrial with imbricate, conduplicate, linear, acute, coriaceous, grading above into tnarrowly lanceolate, papaery leaves that blooms in the spring to early summer on an erect, laxly branched,to 12" [30 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence with half as long as the pedicel floral bracts and carrying non-resupinate flowers
