Found in New Guinea in forests at elevations around 1100 to 1200 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with a terete, densely leafy stem carrying fleshy, somewhat falcate-curved, linear-ligulate, unequally and acutely bilobed leaves that blooms in the early summer on a very short, sessile, single flowered inflorescence.

Schlechter states that this orchid is very similar to A virens and has been listed as a subspecies but deserves species status. He also states that the flowers are yellow green.
