Found in south central Madagascar and Reunion in humid, evergreen, montane forests at elevations of 400 to 1500 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a short stem carrying 3 to 8, linear, v-shaped in cross-section leaves that blooms in the late spring, summer and winter on n erect to ascending, simple to 2 branched, rigid, to 8" [to 20 cm] long inflorescence enveloped by pale bracts.
