Found in southern and southwestern Madagascar in deciduous, dry forests and scrub at elevations of sealevel to 900 meters as a small sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with an erect, woody stem carrying 2 to 6, narrowly elliptic or ligulate, unequally and shortly bilobed apically, undulate margins, greyish green to dark green, often red tinted leaves that blooms in the late spring and summer on several, pendulous, arising below the leaves, reddish brown, 3.2 to 12" [8 to 30 cm] long, 4 to 20 flowered inflorescence.
