Found in the central highlands of Madagascar near rivers on trees in humid evergreen forests at elevations of 1000 to 1400 meters as a small sized, warm growing epiphyte with a short slender stem carrying 6 to 7, linear-ligulate leaves that blooms in the early fall on a pendant, wiry, 4.4 to 8" [11 to 20 cm] long, 1 to 2 flowered inflorescence with 2 to 3 distant sheaths.

Flowering can last for up to 8 months.
