Found in New Guinea at elevations around 1000 to 2000 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a long decumbent rhizome giving rise to erect, simple, leafy stems carrying erect-patent, thin, glabrous, ligulate, oblique, subacute, serrulate margin leaves that blooms in the fall on a terminal, single flowered inflorescence.

Schlechter states that the flower are yellow and somewhat larger than in all the other species of the genus.
