Common Name The Appendicula-Like Agrostophyllum
Flower Size
Found in New Guinea in montane forests at elevations of 1300 meters as a small to medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to simple, densely leafy stems carrying patent to erect-patent, oblong-ligulate, shortly bilobulate apically, somewhat narrowing leaves that blooms in the fall on an erect, capitate, semiglobose, .6" [1.5 cm] wide, 6 to 10 flowered inflorescence.
Schlechter states the flowers are snow white. He also said that this species is approaching the genus Appeniculopsis with its small leaves but differs in the short instead of an elongate rhizome.
