Found in New Guinea in montane forests at elevations of 1200 meters as a medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to compressed, subdensely leafy stems carrying 7 to 10, erect-patent to erect, elliptic-lanceolate, acuminate, narrowing below into the subpetiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect, capitate, semiglobose, 1.2 to 1.6" [3 to 4 cm] wide, densely many flowered inflorescence.

Schlechter states that the flowers are white, the lip has a golden yellow spot.
