Found in Papua New Guinea in tree fern savannah at elevations of 2620 to 2900 meters as a small sized, cold growing epiphyte with numerous, tufted, erect, unbranched, enveloped by leaf sheaths stems carrying a single, linear, suberect, smooth margins, unequally bilobulate apically, mucronate leaf that blooms in the winter on a terminal, very short, enveloped by a few desiccated, deciduous, conduplicate scale leaves, single flowered inflorescence with ovate, acuminate, ovary clasping floral bracts and carrying a single, wide opening, usually resupinate flower.
