Found in New Guinea on trees in forests at elevations of 1300 meters as a medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with a very short rhizome giving rise to an elongate, compressed, densely leafy stem carrying erect-patent, linear-ligulate, acute, distinctly bicuspidate, basally attenuate leaves that blooms in the late spring on a terminal, compressed, elongate, to 8" [30 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence

Schlechter states that the flowers are snow white and have a golden yellow spot towards the base.
