Found in New Guinea in montane forests at elevations of 1200 meters as a medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise somewhat compressed, densely leafy stems carrying erect-patent, oblong-ligulate, obtuse, unequally bilobulate apically, distinctly narrowing below into the base leaves that blooms in the late spring and early summer on a capitate, subglobose, 2.2" [5.5 cm] wide, densely many flowered inflorescence.
Schlechter states that the flowers are white, the lip has two pale pink, short stripes and the column has red spots.
