Found in New Guinea in montane forests at elevations of 1800 meters as a medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to somewhat compressed, erect, strict, laxly leafy stems carrying erect-patent, linear-ligulate, unequally and acutely bilobulate apically leaves that blooms in the spring on a capitate, many flowered inflorescence.

Schlechter states that the flowers are pure white and that this is a peloric variety of an unknown species.
