Found in the New Guinea in lowland forests at elevations of sealevel to 900 meters as a small to medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with close set, compressed, many leafed stems with patent, half twisted basally, sublinear, gradually narrowing towards the unequally acutely bidentate or slightly emarginate apex with a small mucro, midrib grooved above, keeled below, coriaceous leaves that blooms in the spring and summer on a terminal, nodding, capitate, several short spiked, each 5 flowered inflorescence with large, ovate, obtuse floral bracts that conceal the ovary
