Found in New Guinea on trees in forests at elevations of 900 meters as a medium sized, warm growing epiphyte with a very short rhizome giving rise to a thin, simple, terete, densely leafy stem carrying erect-patent, linear, acute, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the late fall and early winter on a terminal, compressed, elongate, to 9.2" [23 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence

Schlechter states that the flowers are white and yellowish towards the base.
