Found in New Guinea in shady montane forests at elevations of 850 to 2800 meters as a small sized, warm to cold growing epiphyte with many, erect, slender, unbranched, slightly laterally compressed stems enveloped by tight clasping leaf sheaths and carrying suberect, distichous, narrowly linear, unequally tricuspidate leaves that blooms in the late fall and early winter as well as the early summer on a terminal, short, single flowered inflorescence.
