Found in Peru at elevations around 3600 meters as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with a glabrous, leafy below, enveloped above by loose, often leafy tubular bracts and carrying 4 to5, elliptic-lanceolate to oblong-lanceolate, acute to acuminate, gradually narrowing below intothe broad, imbricating, petiolate base leaves that blooms on a terminal, erect, to 6" [15 cm] long, long-cylindric, rachis glandular-pilose, densely many flowered inflorescence with ovate to ovate-lanceolate, acute to aciuminate, shorter to equal to the length of the flowers.
