Common Name or Meaning The Greenish Altensteinia

Flower Size 1/8" [4mm]

Found in Colombia and Ecuador in wet paramo and subparamo at elevations around 2800 to 3500 meters as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial orchid with a short, erect, sometimes branched at the base stem carrying a rosette of coriaceous, narrowly obovate leaves that blooms in the spring on a terminal, erect, 8" [20 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence enveloped by large, glabrous bracts
