Found in Sichuan and western Hubei provinces of China in forests in damp areas on rocky soils at elevations of 2600 to 3600 meters as a mini-miniature to miniature sized, cold growing terrestrial with ellipsoid tubers giving rise to a stem with 1 to 2, basal, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, cauline, porrect, narrowly elliptic to narrowly oblong, acute leaf that blooms in the early summer on an erect, densely several to more than 10 flowered, ebracteate inflorescence with a lanceolate, nearly as long as the ovary, acuminate floral bract
