Common Name The Delicate Amitostigma - In China Wu Zhu Lan

Found in Japan, Korea, China and Taiwan in forest in damp rocky soils, crevices and valleys at elevations of 2000 to 3000 meters as a mini-miniature to small sized, cold growing terrestrial with ovoid to oblong-ellipsoid tubers giving rise to a slender, erect to suberect, glabrous stem carrying near the base , large, narrowly oblong, oblong, ovate-lanceolate to elliptic oblong, erect, spreading, obtuse to acute, constricted below into the amplexicaul, clasping base leaf and 1 to 2 leaf-like small bracts above, that blooms in the late spring and early summer on an erect to arching, 5 to 20 flowered racemose inflorescence with small, erect, spreading, ovate-lanceolate to ovate, acuminate, much shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
