Common Name Patricia's Anacheilium [Patricia Harding, Orchid enthusiast and discoverer of the new species current]

Flower Size .8" [2 cm]

Found in Cundinamarca department of Colombia in cloud forests at elevations around 3100 meters as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial with fusiform, laterally flattened pseudobulbs enveloped basally by deciduous sheaths and carrying a single, apical, subcoriaceous, oblong leaf that blooms in the late summer and early fall on a terminal, arising through a dried spathe, peduncel 1.2 to 1.6" [3 to 4 cm] long, half as long as the leaves, 2" [5 cm] long, simultaneously 1 to 2 flowered inflorescence carrying non-resupinate flowers.

The lip structure is unique to the genus by the lip cupping the apex of the column and the lip lacks the distinct 3 lobes that are held flat.
