Found in Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Costa Rica at elevations of 1400 to 1950 meters as a miniature to small sized, erect, warm to cool growing warm growing epiphyte with an elongated, creeping rhizome with 2 to 2.4" [5 to 6 cm] between each spindle-shaped pseudobulbs enveloppd in youth by imbricatesheaths and carrying 3 to 4, apical, linear-lanceolate leaves that blooms in the spring on a terminal, loose, 3.2" [8 cm] long, few flowered inflorescence arising on a newly maturing pseudsobulb with non-resupinate flowers.
