Found in Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, Zaire and Malawi in dense evergreen forests as a medium sized, warm growing epiphyte with a pendant, straight to curved stem enveloped by leaf-bearing sheaths and carrying 2 ranked, ovate to elliptic, very unequally bilobed apically leaves that blooms in the late spring and early summer on 1 to 2, below the roots, single flowered inflorecence with lanceolate, acute bracts
