Found in central Madagascar in moss forests at elevations around 700 to 2000 meters as a miniature to small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a stem carrying 5 to 6, thick and leathery, equally bilobed apically leaves and blooms in the late spring and early summer on an axillary, short, single flowered inflorescence enveloped by imbricating sheaths and carries a second flower that is always aborted
