Found in Madagascar in humid forests at elevations of 700 to 2000 meters as a small sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte with a short, stout stem carrying 5 to 14, spreading or recurved, thick and leathery, folded, gray green, mottled leaves that blooms in the late winter, spring and early summer on an axillary, short, few [1 to 3] flowered inflorescence that peirced the leaf sheath and the nocturnally, fragrant flower has a "u"-shaped bend in it.
