Found in northern and east central Madagascar in humid mossy evergreen forests at elevations of 500 to 2500 meters as a slender, small sized, warm to cold, pendent growing epiphyte often confused with A teretifolium with an elongate stem carrying 6 to 12, in 2 rows, filiform, narrowly furrowed above leaves that blooms in the spring on an axillary, slender, short, simple, single flowered inflorescence
