Found in Madagascar in mossy forests at elevations of 1500 to 1800 meters as a small to medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with an elongate, erect, then pendant, occasionally branching, slightly flattened stem carrying many, 2 ranked, ligulate, fleshy, glossy, shortly unequally bilobed apically leaves that blooms in the later summer on an axillary, 5 to 6" [12.5 to 15 cm] long, 3 to 5 flowered inflorescence with oval-apiculate bracts.
