Found in Malawi, Zimbabwe and Transvaal South Africa on small trees and escarpments at elevations of 1200 to 1500 meters in frequent mist areas as a miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with an erect, short stem carrying 2 to 4, 2 ranked, linear, obscurely bilobed apically, dark gray green leaves that blooms in the late spring to early summer on 1 to 2, below the leaves, single flowered inflorescence carrying a large flower with a very long spur.
