Common Name The Sikkim Anoectochilus
Flower Size Up to 3/4" [to 1.85 cm]
A small warm to cool growing, terrestrial species with a creeping stem carrying 4 to 5, elliptic-ovate, acute, narrowed into a broad sheathing petiole, beatiful dark red, velvety leaves with gold veining, found in Vietnam and Sikkim in the Himalayas in broadleafed, evergreen, humid primary forests in soils dampened by mists and splash along steep watercourses at elevations of 900 to 1900 meters that blooms in the summer on an erect, 8" [20 cm] long, terminal, pubescent inflorescence with the axis a pale red color and carrying many flowers.
CAUTION Said to be synomonous with A brevilabris but if I have the species photos correct then there is no way that they are the same species, more research needs to be done here!
