Found in Queensland Australia in shady locations within rainforests at elevations of sealevel to 500 meters as a medium sized, hot growing, mycoheterotrophic terrestrial orchid without leaves that has an erect, 12 to 22" [30 to 55 cm] long, dark purple with white flecked, slender, fleshy, brittle stem that blooms in the late spring through fall on an erect, 4 to 20 flowered inflorescence
