Common Name Evrard's Aphyllorchis [Belgian Collector and Botanist 1900's]

Flower Size 1.6" [4 cm]

Found in Thailand, Laos and Vietnam in broad-leaved montane forests on ridges at elevations of 1100 to 1700 meters as a giant sized, cool growing mycoheterotrophic terrestrial with a brownish yellow with violet stripes, stout, erect stem enveloped by broad sheaths that bloooms in the mid fall through early winter on an erect, to 12" [30 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence with narrowly cuneate, acuminate, as long as the pedicel and ovary floral bracts.
