Found in Sulawesi in primary and riverine forests at elevations of 600 to 900 meters as a medium sized, warm growing epiphyte with a branching, strongly compressed stem enveloped by wing-like leaf sheaths carrying acute leaves held on either opposite side of the stem that blooms in the summer and fall on a terminal or lateral inflorescence enveloped by 2 opposite rows of large, sharp pointed green bracts that partially hide the flowers.
