Found in New Guinea at elevations around 300 meters as a medium sized, hot growing epiphyte with a very short rhizome giving rise to simple, more or less flexuous, terete, glabrous, densely leafy stems, enveloped completely by tightly clasping leaf bearing sheaths and carrying patent, oblong-elliptic, unequally bilobed apically, glabrous leaves that blooms in the late winter and early spring on a lateral, very short, 2 to 4 flowered inflorescence with oblong, apiculate, shorter than the ovary floral bracts.

Schlechter states that the flowers are white.
