Found in Sumatra and Java in moist forests low on the trees at elevations of 1250 to 1700 meters as a large sized, cool growing epiphyte with long, quite thick, sparingly branched stems carrying oblong, close set, all in one plane leaves that blooms in the late winter and early spring on a simple to branched, usually terminal but can be lateral, pendulous, peduncle 3.2" [8 cm] long, rachis to 2" [5 cm] long, to 30 flowered inflorescence and each flower has a circular, concave, obtuse, floral bract
