Found in Sumatra, Java and Borneo in humid and dry seasonal forests in moist shady areas at elevations of 1200 to 2500 meters as a small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with many close set, fairly stiff, not branching stems carrying many, oblong, thick, fleshy, unequally bilobed apically, green to purple leaves that blooms in the fall on a terminal and lateral, much shorter than the leaves, 1 to 2 flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, as long to a bit shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
