Common Name or Meaning Maingay's Arachnis [English Surgeon and Orchid enthusiast 1800's]

Flower Size 2" [5 cm]

Found in Malacca and Vietnam in semi-deciduous and deciduous dry lowland forests at elevations of sealevel to 700 meters as a large sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with an elongate stem carrying many stiff, nearly straight, basally toothed leaves with the edges recurved and blooms on an axillary, erect to 2' [60 cm] long, several flowered inflorescence occuring mostly in the summer.

This orchid is a naturally occuring hybrid of A flos aeris and A hookeriana
