Common Name or Meaning The Loosely Flowered Arpophyllum

Flower Size 5/8" [1.5 cm]

Found in Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosi, Queretaro, Hidalgo, Puebla, Vera Cruz, Oaxaca, and Chiapas states of Mexico as well as northern Guatemala in oak, oak/pine and evergreen cloud forests at elevations of 1400 to 2500 meters as a medium sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with erect, round in cross-section pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, folded and then conduplicate below into the elongate base leaf that blooms in the fall on an apical, showy, lax to densely 10 to 35 [60] flowered inflorescence carrying simultaneous, non-resupinate flowers.
