Found in Queensland Australia open forests at elevations of 20 to 150 meters as a mini-miniature to small sized, warm growing terrestrial with an ovoid tuber giving rise to 2 different growths, one a rosette of 2 to 5, bluish green, elliptic, acute leaves which encircles the other with just a wiry, leafless stem with one sheathing bract giving rise in the later spring through fall to an erect, 2.8 to 6" [7 to 15 cm] long, 2 to 15 flowered inflorescence
