Common Name The Orange Ascocentrum

Flower Size 3/8"+ [1 cm]

Found in Bali, Sulawesi and the Philippines at elevations up to 1200 meters as a monopodial hot to cool growing epiphyte in dark forests and blooms in the spring on an erect, 4" [10 cm] long, many flowered, racemose inflorescence.

The orchid in the photograph is from Sulawesi, the deep orange type not the Phillipine subspecies.
