Found in Thailand, Borneo, Malaysia and Sumatra in sand forests, lower montane forest and oak/laurel forests on mossy rocks at elevations of 900 to 1900 meters as a small to just medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with clustered, basally swollen, thinning towards the apex stems with elongate, free, acuminate sheaths near the base and carrying 2 to 3, linear, uneven apically leaves that blooms on a 1 to rarely 2, terminal, finely pubescent, many flowered inflorescence with the non-resupinate, not opening widely flowers arranged in whorls and has minute floral bracts
