Common Name Charlesworth's Bifrenaria [Renowned English Orchid Nursury 1800's]

Found in the Atlantic forest, in Bahia, Espirito Santo and Rio De Janiero State of Brazil in montane rainforests at elevations of 300 to 1000 meters as a hot to cool growing epiphyte with conical, four sided, slightly compressed psudobulbs carrying a single, apical, plicate, oblong lanceolate, acuminate, coriaceous leaves that blooms on a basal, erect, 7" [18 cm] long 3 to 6 flowered inflorescence with oblong obtuse floral bracts and carrying fragrant flowers and arising in the fall and early winter. This species is similar to B racemosa but this one has a larger flower spur perpendicular to the ovary and a central yellow callus and a pubescent [glabrous in B racemosa] lip.
