Flower Size 1.6 to 2" [4 to 5 cm]

Found in Chile at elevations of 700 to 2500 meters as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with an erect, stem enveloped basally by a few, lanceolate, acute leaves and above by numerous, acuminate bracts that blooms in the spring on an erect, terminal, 6 to 8 flowered inflorescence with linear-lanceolate, acute, scarious floral bracts.
