Found in southern Cape Province South Africa at elevations of 150 to 1580 meters as a miniature to small sized, cold growing terrestrial with tubers in clusters of up to 10, giving rise to a slender to fairly robust stem carrying cauline, closely imbricate, lanceolate to narrowly lanceolate, acute, glabrous, green leaves that blooms in the fall and early winter on an erect, 5.2" [13 cm] long, lax to densely many flowered inflorescence
