Found in the lichen rich forests of north western Madagascar at elevations around 1500 meters as a small sized, warm growing epiphyte with 1/4 to 1/2" [.8 to 1.2 cm] between each compressed ovoid, yellowish pseudobulb carrying 2 apical, oblong leaves that blooms in the late fall on a 11 to 12" [28 to 30 cm] long, enveloped entirely by 9 to 10 yellowish sheaths each gradually longer than the yellow, narrowing and becoming longer bracts and always twice as long as the flowers, rhachis thin, 4" [10 cm] long, several flowered inflorescence
