Found in the penninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo and the Philippines in tall forests at elevations of 100 to 1800 meters as a small to medium sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial or epiphyte with 1.6 to 10" [4 to 25 cm] between each distinct, obovoid to ellipsoid, rarely cylindrical, flattened pseudobulb carrying a single elliptic to obovate, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect to patent, 1.2 to 14.4" [3 to 36 cm] long, 1 to 10 flowered inflorescence carrying coconut scented flowers
