Found in Sabah Borneo near Mt Kinabalu in mixed montane forests on bare trees at elevations of 1200 to 2000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing, mat forming epiphyte with ovoid to ellipsoid, slightly flattened pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, rather thick, ovate to elliptic, abruptly narrowing below into the shortly petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a basal, erect, 1.2 to 1.8" [3 to 4.5 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence
